A well performed face lift can create incredible results for patients seeking a tighter and younger looking appearance. But what if you don’t have the time or need to undergo a major cosmetic procedure? Compartmental Facial Lifts (CFL) are an option for patients looking for a less invasive procedure, says Mr. Humzah.

He said: “Not all men and women want or need to commit to the downtime associated with a full face lift,” explains Mr Humzah.

“More and more patients are coming to me with complaints about specific areas of the face, rather than the entire face. In this instance, a CFL can be the better option as this technique allows the patient to target problem areas directly, thus achieving specific and more desirable results.”

There’s been lots of interest in Mr Humzah’s CFL and the impressive results he’s been achieving for patients in the UK using Silhouette Thread Lifts and One Stitch Lifts (OSL). Performed with local anaesthetic in less than 45 minutes, both Silhouette Thread Lifts and One Stitch Lifts (OSL) offer fantastic results for men and women.

Silhouette Lift

  • Offers patients significant lift and natural looking results.
  • Can be used to correct the signs of aging in nasolabial folds (the deep crevices that run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth), expression lines and jowls.
  • The procedure involves four stages – deployment, anchoring, suspension and fixation.
  • With immediate recovery, patients can get back to normal activities within two days and after two weeks the face will have recovered.
  • Treatment costs from £2,900 and threads can be re-tightened after three to five years if required.

One Stitch Lift (OSL)

  • Ideal for patients looking for a refreshed and youthful look.
  • Designed to help patients looking to address changes in facial shape and contour that commonly occurs with ageing.
  • The procedure involves making an incision around the hairline in the sideburn area, leaving a small scar in the hairline on both sides that in many cases will be hidden by the hair.
  • Again, minimum recovery time means normal everyday activities can resume within 24 hours.
  • Treatment costs from £1,700 and results last up to 18 months.

Obagi’s NEW Blue Peel RADIANCE can enhance your skin’s overall look and feel in a matter of minutes. Available now at Mr Humzah’s private practice clinics throughout the region, the new facial rejuvenation treatment is suitable for all skin types.

Dubbed the ‘lunchtime peel’, Blue Peel RADIANCE is a superficial chemical peel, meaning it is one of the mildest types of peels available and can be used on most skin types. With no downtime required, the treatment provides instant radiance and tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin after just one use.

Uniquely, the OBAGI Blue Peel uses a gentle combination of salicylic, lactic and glycolic acids which when applied to the skin, removes dead skin cells and stimulates the production of new skin cells. Since it is not absorbed through the skin, there are no internal toxic effects. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling and reveals a more youthful appearance.

Mr Humzah said: “Taking just under one hour to complete, the peel is ideal for men and women looking to improve common skin problems such as premature aging, adult acne, freckles and sun spots.

“It is also attractive for those who prefer a non-surgical option for revitalising the skin or reducing the appearance of fine scars and wrinkles.”

Mr Humzah recommends a course of four to six peels to gain the best results. Treatment costs from £80.00 and is available on request from Mr Humzah’s private practice locations in Worcestershire, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Solihull and Cheltenham.

Following his earlier call to the Government to reinstate The National Breast Implant Registry, Mr Humzah has welcomed the consideration of a Breast Implant Registry to record details of all operations.

Backing plans announced by the Department of Health to review whether the cosmetic industry needs to be more effectively regulated, Mr Humzah says better rules are needed to avoid the recent scandal, over French manufactured breast implants PIP, which has left an estimated 40,000 UK women anxious over the effects of their faulty breast implants.

The NHS Medical Direct, Professor Sir Bruce Keogh will lead the review over the next 12 months. In particular, the review will look at whether the regulation of products used in cosmetic interventions is appropriate, how best to assure patients that the people who carry out procedures have the skills to do so and how to ensure that patients considering such interventions are given the information, advice and time for reflection to make an informed choice.

NHS Medical Director, Professor Sir Bruce Keogh, said: “I will be looking at all aspects of regulation – at the regulation of implants and fillers, whether the people who carry out cosmetic interventions have the right skills, at whether the clinics look after the care and welfare of their patients. This would include treatments such as cosmetic surgery, Botox injections and dermal fillers and other cosmetic treatments where there is a potential risk to health.”

Mr Humzah, a member of The British Association of Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), would also like to see dermal fillers reclassified as medicines and subject to more stringent rules, including being used by registered medical practitioners only.

“The safety of people who decide to have cosmetic surgery or non-surgical treatments is vital and it is important to have regulations in place that protect patients” said Mr Humzah.

He added: “I will continue to support the on-going improvement of regulation in the industry, continue to educate practitioners and inform patients. Cosmetic surgery is surgery – no matter how small it may appear it should be done by a fully trained surgeon and in the right clinical environment using the appropriate techniques.”
